09/21/2018 Liebherr to Supply Air Conditioning Systems for Hungarian IC+ Coaches
Starting in early 2019, Liebherr-Transportation Systems will supply a total of 70 underfloor air conditioning units to its customer MÁV-START Zrt. for the new InterCity coach type IC+ (ARmz and Bbdpmz series).
This order highlights the high level of confidence the Hungarian State Railways has in Liebherr as a long-standing and reliable supplier to the Eastern European railway industry. This is a follow-up contract: This year Liebherr-Transportation Systems has already begun to provide underfloor air conditioning units for 20 IC+ passenger coaches from MÁV-START.
All cars will be used for domestic and international transport, this includes the Budapest - Debrecen - Nyiregyhaza route and subsequently also in Sopron and Szombathely, as well as in Pecs, Kaposvar, Dombovar and Miskolc for domestic transport, and Bratislava – Praha – Berlin route for international transport.
The coaches were developed in the Szolnok MÁV-START repair centre. Half of the 70 cars will be equipped in the first class configuration while the other 35 will be multi-purpose large capacity cars.
