Self-image as a family-run company

Liebherr is and remains a wholly-owned family-run company and the Liebherr Group is inextricably linked to the Liebherr family. A value-oriented corporate culture ensures strong team spirit and a trusting relationship with partners and customers.

Family-run company based on tradition

Liebherr was founded in 1949 by Hans Liebherr. The Upper Swabian builder recognises the signs of the times: He develops the first mobile tower crane in the world, thus speeding up the reconstruction. At the same time, he lays the foundation for a successful family-run company with this groundbreaking invention. Hans Liebherr's visionary ideas, his unmistakable instinct for future-oriented technologies and new markets and his passion were decisive for the continuous growth of the Liebherr Group from the start and over the decades. In a company history spanning more than 70 years, Liebherr has now demonstrated stability and reliability thanks to the personal commitment of the company owners and the self-image as a family-run company and is known as a pioneer for future-oriented, high-quality innovations.

As an independent family-run business, Liebherr has a great amount of freedom in all activities to act and make decisions. The shareholders of the Liebherr Group are descendants of the company's founder in the second and third generation. As family shareholders, they continue to manage the company in the tradition of the company founder, thus ensuring continuity and security.

Management with responsibility

The family shareholders are aware of their entrepreneurial responsibility. Long-term success and sustainability form the basis for the sound ongoing development of the company. Job security and preserving integrity as business partners are important business directives.

Thanks to the high equity ratio and a diversified product portfolio, Liebherr is able to cover market-related economic fluctuations. To ensure long-term and forward-looking success, profits are reinvested and remain in the company. Apart from responsible management, this solid financial basis also secures the future of the company and jobs.

Value-oriented corporate culture

The employees are a vital part of the family-run company Liebherr. The family shareholders place a great deal of trust in them, meaning there is scope for independent action. Every individual feels responsible for the success of the company and serves the Liebherr Group with great commitment and passion. Working at Liebherr means dedicating yourself entirely to the cause, breaking new ground time and again and growing through the experience. Every employee makes a contribution with their own ideas so that great things can happen and appropriate solutions can be found for customers, no matter how demanding or challenging the respective task is.

Liebherr also cultivates close, long-term relationships with customers and business partners for years or decades. This cooperation is characterised by mutual respect, fairness and trust. Liebherr attaches importance to being able to respond quickly and flexibly to customer's wishes and offering them customised solutions using innovative technologies, which consistently redefine the limits of what is possible. The highest quality standards apply here and the focus is always on customer satisfaction. The services of the Liebherr Group do not end at the product, but also include services that make a real difference. The close relationship with the customer and the high importance of the customer benefit are the basis of the company success and are an important part of the tradition as a family-run company.
