Heavy Lift Crane - HLC
The Liebherr heavy lift crane series (HLC) is designed especially for the installation of wind farms and for the oil and gas as well as the decommissioning sector.
Liebherr heavy lift crane
The new heavy lift crane series is the biggest offshore crane Liebherr has developed so far.
Heavy lift crane series - lifting height
The new Liebherr HLC series has a lifting height in excess of 180 metres, 23 metres higher as the top of the world famous Cologne Cathedral.
HLC series - lifting capacity
The Liebherr heavy lift crane has a maximum lifting capacity of up to 5,000 tonnes at more than 30 metres outreach. The crane would be able to lift 9 fully loaded A380 airplanes in one go.
Heavy lift crane series - maximum radius
The maximum radius of the Liebherr HLC series is 160 meters! Even a football pitch seems small in comparison!
|Overturning moment (max.)||295,000 tm|
|Main lift capacity (max.)||5,000 t|
|Main jib length (max.)||160 m|
The main characteristic of the HLC is its compact design. The HLC 295000 has a pedestal diameter of only 17 metres, and so does not require much space on deck. Despite this small footprint, it packs a punch, and can lift up to 5,000 tonnes at more than 30 metres outreach. This combination of compact design, high power and very low weight makes the HLC unique.
For the HLC series, the A-frame is available in a foldable version on customer request. This innovative feature allows passage under low bridges and reduces transit times.
For precise positioning of the load, the HLC can be equipped with a fully automatic trolley hoist system. The trolley moves on centre mounted rails along the boom and ensures an optimal angle of 90° to the load.
The HLC has numerous tugger winches which help the crane operator to stabilise and secure the load. Furthermore, the tugger winches can be used to lift heavy lifting gear/slings onto the main hook.
The tugger winches can be fitted with fibre ropes, which offer many advantages, including low weight, a considerably longer service life, reduced maintenance and environmental benefits as no lubricants are required with fibre ropes.
Outfitted with an extra-large two room cabin, the HLC provides maximum comfort. The cabin includes a primary main operator seat and a secondary operator seat. While the primary operator can control all functions, he may shift the tugger winch control functions to the secondary operator seat. The secondary operator can either operate the tuggers from the cabin or remotely from the outside (e.g. deck level).The cabin also includes office facilities such as a desk, chair and a fridge.
The combination of swivel bearings, slewing mechanisms, winches and the Liebherr Litronic system ensures precise positioning as well as exact movement of the loads. Together with the powerful electro-hydraulic drive, this guarantees optimum control of the equipment in all operating situations.
The HLC can be deployed as a heavy duty crane for the assembly and maintenance of offshore installations. At a maximum of 5,000 tonnes, the enormous lifting capacity of the crane facilitates the installation of next generation wind turbines as well as loading and subsequent installation of heaviest foundations.
Next to this commissioning and decommissioning of offshore installations such as oil and gas platforms is another area of use.
