ECOL - Liebherr awarded certificate to provide training for the European crane operators licence

In March, the training centre at Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH was awarded a certificate, which officially enables it to train crane operators for the new European Crane Operators Licence (ECOL). The certification company, Lloyd´s Register, had first checked that Liebherr could provide the required training and whether the training centre met the high standards. The first three mobile crane operators have since taken and passed the examination with Liebherr. Find out more

Fourth Liebherr LR 13000 crawler crane handed over

A ceremony was held in the evening sunshine last autumn – Liebherr family shareholders and members of the Mobile Cranes Division Board, Willi Liebherr and Sophie Albrecht, handed over a Liebherr LR 13000 crawler crane to Russian company Titan-2. Christoph Kleiner, Managing Director of Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH, was also present at the ceremony. The 3000 tonne crane is the most powerful conventional crawler crane in the world. It is the fourth crane of this type to be delivered. Find out more

“A Liebherr is always a good choice” – Bruns takes delivery of LTM 1130-5.1 mobile crane

Bruns Schwerlast GmbH from Suelzetal near Magdeburg (Germany) has received a Liebherr LTM 1130-5.1 mobile crane. The new crane will replace an LTM 1100-5.2. The wide application field of the 130-tonne crane and positive experience with an LTM 1130.5.1, which the company had purchased in 2008, were crucial factors in favour of the purchase. Find out more

Replacement after a decade: Horn takes delivery of new Liebherr LTM 1100-5.2 mobile crane

Horn Autokrane from Werdau in Saxony (Germany) has taken delivery of a new LTM 1100-5.2 mobile crane from the Liebherr plant in Ehingen. The new 100-tonne crane replaces a ten year old mobile crane of the same type, but offers innovations that further improve the safety, economy and comfort of Liebherr mobile cranes: including ECOmode, VarioBase® and TraXon gear unit with ECOdrive. Nicely filling the gap – brand new LTM 1160-5.2 joins new location in Texas from Canadian company Irving Crane.

Canadian crane company Irving Equipment’s newest crane services branch out of Wallisville, Texas, United States. In addition to ten employees, a brand new LTM 1160-5.2 from Liebherr is now taken into service at the new depot. Irving will serve the petrochemical market in the region with the taxi crane. Having long term experience with its predecessor LTM 1160-5.1, the new Liebherr All Terrain was the logical choice for Irving. Find out more

Schmidbauer takes delivery of powerful 450 tonne LTM 1450-8.1 fast-erecting crane at Liebherr plant in Ehingen

Crane and heavy haulage contractor Schmidbauer is freshening up its fleet with a large number of Liebherr mobile cranes of all sizes – from the LTC 1050-3.1 compact crane to the newly developed LTM 1650-8.1 heavy duty crane with delivery scheduled for 2021. Team players – three crane contractors from northern Germany jointly take delivery of new mobile cranes at the Liebherr Plant in Ehingen

Three crane hire companies based in northern Germany, Sönke Jordt, Schwarze ASC and Megalift jointly took delivery of three new cranes at the end of February in the Liebherr production plant in Ehingen; two LTM 1070-4.2 machines and an LTC 1050-3.1. The joint handover photograph demonstrates the good collaboration between the three companies – using the slogan “Together – for the good of the customer”. Find out more

Reinforcement for wind power – Myshak Group invests in first two Liebherr LG 1750 SX lattice boom mobile cranes in North America

Canadian crane and heavy haul contractor Myshak Crane & Rigging Ltd. took delivery of their first Liebherr LG 1750 SX mobile crane in December 2019 and their second upcoming in April 2020. The 750-tonne lattice boom crane will reinforce the company’s crane fleet and is mainly intended for jobs in the wind power industry. They are the first two LG 1750 with the powerful SX boom system in North America. Find out more

Telescopic truck-mounted crane hoists work platform through a gym roof

For the new-build gymnasium at a primary school in the south of Berlin, a telescopic work platform had to be hoisted over the roof into the site as access inside the hall itself was simply not possible. Crane contractor Herrmann & Wittrock used a Liebherr LTF 1060-4.1 truck-mounted crane from its branch in Gross Kienitz to hoist the eight-tonne device into position in constricted conditions.
