LTC taxi cranes: Through the eye of a needle with high lifting capacity
Their compact design make our compact mobile cranes ideal for hoisting work on very constricted sites. This is often the case in industrial buildings or urban areas. The space-saving design of the LTC® cranes, coupled with a variable steering concept, means that the cranes can pass almost impossible obstacles even when rigged for the road. Gates in industrial buildings, walls in old towns and narrow alleys often equate to passing through the eye of a needle to get to the actual hoisting job.
The telescoping crane cabin also ensures an excellent view of the load and surrounding area – significantly increasing safety levels when used with a city crane. A very convincing argument, particularly in constricted areas.

Improved dimensions
Our LTC® mobile cranes feature extremely compact dimensions. Some of them can even be reduced further by removing the front storage boxes. And when things get really, the jib can also be luffed upwards – making the chassis’ turning circle the baseline. It does not get more compact than that!
Everything on board
Perfectly equipped for the job
The city crane carries all the equipment it needs on board. For example, the LTC 1050-3.1 has an axle load of 12 t, including basic ballast and also a folding jib. That reduces transport costs and increases the flexibility of the compact crane. But we can also supply simple solutions for lower axle loads by reducing the amount of ballast carried on the crane.

A clever cabin concept for safe working practice
LTC® cranes only have a single cabin to keep them as compact as possible. This is then used both for driving and for crane operation. For travelling on the road, the cabin is pushed to the front of the vehicle and secured – delivering good handling even for lengthy journeys at high speeds. For crane operation, the cabin is pushed to the rear and can be telescoped to improve safety during the hoisting work.

Our new LTC 1050-3.1 compact crane has an electric motor in addition to its conventional power unit. This enables crane movements to be powered electrically as an option. The new version of the compact 50 tonne crane therefore helps to reduce CO2 emissions and meets the requirements for operating on “zero emissions” sites.

The remote control & RemoteDrive
All our mobile cranes with a LICCON2 control system are now programmed as standard for controlling all crane movements remotely. The purchase of a control desk, a console with two master switches into which an existing BTT can be inserted, enables all programmed LICCON2 cranes to be controlled using the remote control.
This is a massive benefit, particularly in constricted areas en route to the job. And what's more: RemoteDrive - the LTC 1050-3.1 can now also be driven using the remote control outside the cabin.

A great view at all times
Telescoping crane cabin
The telescoping crane cabin also delivers excellent safety levels during the hoisting work. The cabin on the LTC 1050-3.1, for example, can be telescoped to a height of 7.80 metres. This provides the crane operator with a great view of the load and the area around the crane.

VarioBase®
VarioBase® ensures safe operation in constricted working conditions. This enables the outriggers to be extended to different lengths at any time. The maximum lifting capacities are calculated individually and precisely for every situation. And this ensures safe working practice with any chosen support base.

Efficient chassis and drive technology
The powerful diesel engine used in LTC® city cranes delivers high speed driving performance. The automatic powershift transmission delivers excellent manoeuvrability and comfort. A torque converter is included for sensitive manoeuvring.
Sensible extension
The right tip for every job
LTC mobile cranes have a powerful telescopic boom. This can be extended to different lengths for hoisting work as required. The LTC 1050-3.1, for example, has a mechanical folding jib, a double folding jib or a mechanically adjustable erection jib with roller set of lifting beam with hooks – significantly increasing flexibility on the site.
Spacious storage
Large storage space despite compact dimensions
Although LTC® mobile cranes are kept as small as possible through their compact dimensions, they have a great deal of storage space. This means that Liebherr city cranes can easily carry all the lifting tackle, chocks and other accessories they require in their numerous storage and other compartments.

A modern Liebherr compact crane was used to carry out maintenance work at a power plant in Saxony. The Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1 proved to be the ideal choice of hoisting equipment to install a forced draught fan in very constricted conditions with a limited room height.

Lowered to get through Ehrenbreitstein Fortress
A Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1 mobile crane had to complete several hoists at Ehrenbreitstein Fortress near Koblenz to erect and remove works of art weighing several tonnes. The compact crane had to pass through two narrow points en route through the massive defensive walls to the place of use. Things became particularly challenging for the driver and vehicle marshals in a 25 metre tunnel where the distance between the crane and the historic structure was just two centimetres in some places.

The Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1 mobile crane erected a gantry crane in difficult conditions. The new 50-tonne compact crane operated by Gummersbach-based crane contractor Ley had to work in a very little space.
