Our engineers use their own concept specifically tailored to mobile cranes for designing every single crane model. This is based on the requirements of our customers and markets.
But the technology requirements differ depending on the crane size and objective of the crane development process.
Every crane is designed individually – so that it is perfect for you and your crane jobs.
This is why we are providing an insight into our general mobile crane technology here – the precise performance data, equipment and options for individual cranes are listed under the various crane models.
Our mobile cranes feature enormous mobility on any terrain. This is guaranteed by our high quality chassis and drive technology which also delivers maximum economy.
The crane provides the operator with extraordinary manoeuvrability – and a comfortable workplace.
New crane models with five or more axles feature an innovative drive concept: The superstructure is powered through a mechanical shaft by the engine in the undercarriage.
Their five steering programs make manoeuvring our cranes child’s play. Handling remains stable even at high speeds.
And what's more, active rear axle steering significantly reduces tyre wear.
We develop the software and hardware for the control system in-house. The heart of the system is the LICCON (Liebherr Computed Control) computer system. This forward-thinking control architecture enables it to adapt to the continually growing needs of the market.
What is more, Liebherr specialists continuously work on developing the system.
Our renowned Liebherr technology for more convenience, economy and safety in use: The crane operator controls the set-up processes with a clear view using the BTT remote control.
VarioBase® enables each individual crane outrigger to be extended to different lengths. At the same time, the crane's work is secured by the LICCON controlled load moment limiter.
The extension length and support force of each outrigger is measured and the maximum lifting capacities for exactly this situation are calculated by the crane controller.
Hydraulic drive units and electronic control systems must be perfectly coordinated to allow large loads to be moved accurately. We develop systems tailored to each capacity class which are designed for practical applications.
A genuine Liebherr crane includes a sophisticated safety concept. The crane operator has equipment and systems for working in, on and around the crane to ensure the job can be completed safely.
Our BTT remote control and VarioBase® are ideal for this purpose.
Our machines deliver all-round economy for crane operation. The well-designed transport, set-up and operating concept are based on many years of practical experience. That enables you to save time, money and material in everyday use.
VarioBallast®, ECOmode and VarioBase® are just three examples from our range of technologies in this respect.
The continuous improvement and expansion of our global service network is part of our commitment to provide you with the best possible support all over the world. This includes on site service and supplying spare parts.
By professionals for professionals: We provide a wide range of training courses at our in-house training centres. Well trained personnel help to increase the performance of cranes whilst also improving industrial safety.
