The use of admixtures for special concrete applications has been prevalent since the 1980s. The quality of the mixing process has become increasingly important. To ensure the quality, there must be a focus on the performance of the mixer. It is essential to have a reliable mixer, which is a key factor in the production process.

The ring pan mixer can be applied on a wide range of applications and provides enough flexibility when mixing concrete recipes of different textures, resistance and workability.

Today's constructions demands are not simple. A good example of special concrete demand, where the Liebherr RIM mixer is applicable, is on low water-cement ratio (W/C). For example, in an instance where W/C = 0.25 – which means for each 1.000 kg of cement, there is an addition of 250 kg of water.

The hydration process happens quickly. It is necessary to have a high intensity mixture to ensure the reaction of cement and water. Due to this necessity, Liebherr has developed the Ring Pan Mixer product line with agitators. The mixer can be equipped with up to two agitators depending on the size of the mixer.

Moreover, special concretes also need specific features in order to provide a good workability and smooth application. A low W/C ratio is a recipe that results in a "dry” concrete that eventually needs addition of superplasticizers to keep workability at a good level, see the video below the mix quality and the reached homogeneity.

For precasters that work with several concrete recipes, this mixer’s design allows to be flexibility and it is suitable for all types of precast projects and concrete application. Additionally, the design of our mixers (not only the ring pan, but also the twin-shaft) offers easy and low maintenance and smooth operation. In addition, the Liebherr mixers have embedded safety features for the operators, but also the option of high-pressure cleaning system to improve the production time and maintenance.

Liebherr supplies more than a mixer, our passion is to deliver a good quality concrete mix to our customers, lower the standard deviation in your production and increase savings of your production processes.
