Liebherr construction machines operate effectively on any site. Hydraulic excavators, duty cycle crawler cranes, wheel loaders, crawler tractors and loaders, articulated trucks, telescopic loaders and pipe layers form the product range in the Earthmoving division. All the machines are state of the art and deliver excellent quality and efficiency.
Liebherr has been developing construction machines for 60 years. So it has a good deal of expertise – and every machine is a product of engineering excellence. Liebherr mainly uses components developed and manufactured in-house. These are perfectly tailored to the machines and meet the brand’s high quality demands. Our wheeled excavators are manufactured in Germany whilst our crawler excavators are manufactured in France. Wheel loaders, dozers and crawler loaders, telescopic loaders, pipe layers and duty cycle crawler cranes are produced in Austria. There are also overseas production plants, for example in China and Brazil.
Liebherr wheeled excavators are ideal machines for excavating, digging trenches, lightweight grading and transporting material. Their mobility makes them extremely flexible to use and they can be moved between sites without additional cost as they have their own wheels. In addition to the classic variant, Liebherr compact excavators are also available. Compact excavators have an extra-short rear swivel radius, which enables them to work in constricted areas. This means they are ideal for use on urban sites.
The wheeled excavator category also contains railroad excavators. These excavators are able to move both on railway tracks and on road.
Liebherr-France SAS manufactures more than thirty models of crawler excavators, from the R 914 Compact to the R 980 SME. These excavators are particularly used for earthmoving and extraction work. The range also includes a large number of special machines for distinct tasks, such as demolition, material handling, pontoon operation and tunnel excavations. The machines manufactured by Liebherr-France SAS with operating weights of 14 – 100 tonnes have engine outputs between 90 and 420 kW.
Liebherr launched its new generation of crawler excavators in January 2019 – Generation 8. During the first phase, seven new models will be launched, ranging from 22 to 45 tonnes. The new Generation 8 crawler excavators deliver more power, greater productivity, enhanced safety and increased driver comfort.
The Liebherr TA 230 articulated truck develops an engine performance of 360 bhp, can carry a payload of 28,000 kg and can travel at speeds of up to 57 km/h. The dump truck can therefore remove large quantities of material when used for earthmoving and extraction work. Low running costs and an enormous capacity for work are the main features of the TA 230 articulated truck, along with its sturdy design.
Liebherr wheel loaders are the result of over 50 years of experience and a massive amount of expertise in the development, design and production of these machines. Liebherr can currently supply a range of wheel loaders in four size classes: Compact loaders, stereo loaders, all-round loaders in the medium series and large wheel loaders. The innovative XPower wheel loaders are a completely new wheel loader concept which sets new standards in terms of fuel efficiency, performance, sturdiness and comfort.
Liebherr has the perfect machine for every job. This sophisticated wheel loader concept delivers some impressive benefits in terms of power, ease of control and economy.
Crawler tractors have been a fixed part of the Liebherr construction machinery range for more than 40 years. The concept of the hydrostatic travel drive was adopted from the very outset. The special benefits of this technology include high efficiency and comfortable, safe operation. Liebherr’s highly modern, low emissions diesel engines are robust in use, save time in maintenance and also feature low fuel consumption.
Power, agility and economy are the main features of Liebherr crawler loaders. Whether they are to be used for earthmoving, demolition, material handling or challenging recycling work on a landfill site, Liebherr can supply powerful, highly efficient universal machines. The crawler loader is the best choice whenever traction on soft or critical surfaces or manoeuvrability in a constricted space and very high break-out forces is required. Thanks to their sophisticated technology and innovative detailed solutions, Liebherr crawler loaders deliver maximum availability and service life even in extremely harsh conditions.
With their excellent lifting capacities and superb manoeuvrability, Liebherr telescopic loaders from the company’s plant in Telfs are suitable both for demanding work on a construction site and for a wide range of tasks in industry. This universal construction machine is designed to deliver top performance for a very wide range of jobs. Their time-tested hydrostatic travel drive with infinitely variable acceleration and good manoeuvrability ensure that they can complete work quickly even in constricted conditions.
Liebherr duty cycle crawler cranes feature a massive amount of versatility. The typical applications of Liebherr duty cycle crawler cranes for earthmoving include hydraulic control for the bottom dump bucket. The machines are also used with a variety of grapples for excavator work. As ideal carrier machine for special foundation work, they can be fitted with a variety of attachments such as slurry wall grabs, swinging leaders or piling grabs.
High performance and innovative technology are the trademarks of Liebherr pipe layers. The infinitely variable hydrostatic drive makes precision manoeuvring possible, even with a heavy load and on difficult terrain. The special Liebherr boom system with hoist cylinder guarantees precision control and excellent hoisting power. Intuitive control elements and a safety concept that sets new standards ensure that all work can be completed quickly and safely – from transporting and bending to laying pipes.
