Kurth Autokrane has decided on a genuine specialist – the Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1 compact crane is perfect for difficult jobs in constricted areas. The company ordered the 50 tonne crane with functional equipment to ensure particularly high safety and efficiency. This includes the advanced RemoteDrive controller, which can be used to control the crane undercarriage, the first of its kind on a mobile crane.

Liebherr’s compact crane is a complete success story. Marcel Kurth, Managing Director of Kurth Autokrane confirmed this view: “We have had an LTC 1045-3.1 in our fleet since 2013 and we have always been satisfied with the crane. But the time had come to replace it. Our positive experiences with the crane meant that one thing was clear – we would be buying another compact crane from Liebherr.” He therefore invested in the successor model, the LTC 1050-3.1.

“The crane has an extremely compact design and can work in very constricted spaces. VarioBase® and the erection jib are massive plus points”, said Marcel Kurth. He also ordered the RemoteDrive feature. The LTC 1050-3.1 is the first crane ever on which the chassis can also be driven by remote control. Kurth added: “This enables us to enhance safety on constricted sites. The crane operator can position himself at the tight spot and manoeuvre the crane carefully whilst it is in full view.” Other features include the high telescoping lifting capacities up to 30 tonnes and the telescoping crane cab. It can take the crane operator to a height of 7.8 metres.

Kurth Autokrane GmbH & Co. KG has a 14-strong workforce and, in addition to renting mobile cranes and work platforms, it carries out ground-level work, machine relocations and towing services. Marcel Kurth selects his equipment very carefully: “I decided on Liebherr because what I receive is a technically sophisticated crane which retains its value very well. I can also rely on the company’s fantastic service.”
