Zefiro
Liebherr-Transportation Systems developed a new electro-hydraulic active damper for active lateral suspension systems in cooperation with Bombardier based on Liebherr’s existing actuation technologies.
Bombardier Zefiro - Photo Bombardier
A complete hydraulic systems and a control board is integrated into the actuator. This actuator is currently used on Bombardier’s Zefiro high speed train (maximum speeds of 250 km/h to 380 km/h).
Electro-hydraulic actuator
This new development is a combination of damper and actuator design. Its purpose is to maintain the car body over the center line in curves and improve the ride comfort on the train. The damper also provides a constant active monitoring of lateral forces.
