Corporate Responsibility

As a family-run company operating worldwide, Liebherr bears a great responsibility towards society and the environment. We are convinced that we can only be successful in the long term if we take a sustainable and forward-looking approach. When we say “forward-looking”, we don’t mean just a period of five or ten years. For us as a family-run company, “forward-looking” means that we also keep the well-being of the next generation and the generation after that in mind.

Our Corporate Responsibility Strategy

In order to continue to live up to this claim in the future, Liebherr has developed a comprehensive Corporate Responsibility Strategy in the course of 2023. The strategy aims to promote sustainable and responsible action in all areas of our business. In this way, we can help address environmental issues and support the communities in which we live and work. This means that we contribute to the success of our company in the long term. At the same time, it is also an obligatory task that we have to rise to as a family-run company.

In addition to the vision of being an economically, ecologically and socially sustainable family-run company, the mission specifies the implementation of the vision by means of the following central fields of action:

  • Products and services
  • Environment and energy
  • Employees and society
  • Sustainable management

Our Corporate Responsibility Policy

The Corporate Responsibility Policy summarises the Liebherr Group’s understanding of responsibility towards people and the environment. It applies to all Liebherr companies worldwide and supplements existing guidelines and policies of the Liebherr Group, such as the Core Values or the Code of Conduct. At the same time, it defines Liebherr’s goals and commitments in the following areas:

  • Responsibility for health, safety and the environment
  • Social responsibility
  • Sustainable management

The Group is guided by the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact on human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. As a globally active group of companies, Liebherr implements these in a variety of ways.
