Liebherr tower cranes build residential project in the heart of São Paulo
Six 85 EC-B 5b Liebherr tower cranes are building more than just a residential district in São Paulo, the capital of the Brazilian state of the same name. The 48 towers, each with 18 floors, will comprise around 7,000 residential units, a day care centre, a police station and much more. The area between the towers will offer space for various recreational facilities such as parks and playgrounds.

First mobile tower crane from Liebherr turns 70
In 1949 the rebuilding process in Germany and Europe is in full swing. The construction workers had to manually load stones, mortar, cement or bricks from the trucks for building apartments and industrial facilities. Because in postwar Germany there were very few cranes and the few that existed were made from iron and cast steel and were extremely heavy. The building was time-consuming, meaning that cranes were only used occasionally on construction sites.

First project runs parallel to launch at Bauma
When Liebherr unveils its new EC-B series at the world’s largest construction machinery trade fair in Munich, the first new EC-Bs will already be in action – and close by at that: Two brand-new 340 EC-B 16 cranes and a 340 EC-B 12 are being used to build a residential complex in Munich’s Messestadt Riem district.

Red Dot Design Award 2019 for the new Liebherr EC-B
Liebherr Tower Cranes has won the “Product Design” category of the Red Dot Design Award 2019 with its new 370 EC-B 12 Fibre. The top-slewing crane has convinced a top-class jury of experts with its dynamic lines, modern bi-colour design concept as well as its integrated advertising panels. With the start of the world’s largest construction machinery trade fair in Munich being just around the corner, the Liebherr Tower Cranes division can be especially pleased with this acclaimed design award. The Red Dot Design Award is one of the most prestigious competitions on the international design scene.

23 Liebherr tower cranes at the airport expansion project in Santiago de Chile

Working range of the Liebherr 172 EC-B 8 Litronic flat-top crane increased
Liebherr has reworked the successful 172 EC-B 8 Litronic flat-top crane and will present its successor to experts for the first time at Intermat 2018. The jib has been extended to 62.5 metres and enables even more accurate division. The new flat-top crane will be presented on the new 16 EC tower system alongside the LiUP internal crane driver elevator.

Liebherr NC-B top-slewing cranes in action
