The Continuous Improvement Specialist reports directly to the Continuous Improvement Manager in analyzing essential business systems within the company and assists with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assists directly in the auditing process including the development of new audit guidelines.
  • Helps to drive and implement change management in established processes.
  • Works to make processes more efficient with higher quality output, while concurrently developing cost saving initiatives.
  • Participates in continuous improvement through program development centered on workflow management, streamlining and/or implementing new processes including LEAN and 6S.
  • Assists in the implementation of the LUS Data Protection Policy.
  • Performs local 6S, Data and Clean Desk policy audits and participates with Liebherr International in all future Liebherr US company wide Data audits.
  • Works on providing timely and accurate reports of key metrics both for direct management and assists other departments in developing metrics.
  • Works with the management team to document, establish and improve processes and procedures.
  • Conducts audits on new processes and procedures.

Competencies

  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree preferred in business management, or a LEAN related job field preferred; and a minimum of 2 – 3 years related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience equivalent to 4 or more years within a relevant industry.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Outlook, MS Excel (including Macros), SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles & 6S concepts. (Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher)
  • Ability to work independently toward the completion of assigned projects and effectively present to a group.
  • Responsible for large-scale projects.
  • Works on assignments that require considerable judgment and initiative.
  • Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
  • Determines method and procedures for new assignments.
  • Knowledge of financial data and costing procedures.
  • Highly skilled in planning, managing, directing resources and managing projects.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
  • Occasional overnight travel up to 20% of the time, both domestic and international.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport.
