Come join us in St. John’s! Our Liebherr Maritime Cranes Division is looking for a seasoned Field Service Technician who thrives on the challenge of diverse work environments. If you are a Maritime equipment expert who demonstrates exceptional electrical and/or millwright work, we want to hear from you!
This position entails a dynamic blend of both onshore and offshore work. The duration of offshore work assignments may extend over a period of 30+/- days.
Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines, gearbox/drive train, etc. to resolve moderate to complex problems
• Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned including warranty upgrades
• Perform preparation and pre-delivery inspections of equipment and new & used equipment preparation
• As needed, perform fluid checks, sample pulling, oil and filter checks, changing lubricants, replacing filters, greasing machine lube points etc.
• Accurate and timely submission of reports and technical document including service reports
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with company policy
• Support in Shop repairs/work as requested
• Other duties as assigned
Competencies
- Provincially recognized Red seal Journeyman - Electrical / Heavy Duty Mechanic / Millwright and/or Engineering Technologist – Mechanical/Electrical.
- Minimum 5+ years experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment is required, direct experience in Crane repair and maintenance is a definite asset
- High school diploma (or the equivalent) is required
- Demonstrated diagnostic skills, strong emphasis and knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings
- Ability to communicate detailed and complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Computer proficient - MS Office experience, service reporting/time entry and parts ordering software
- Resourceful and able to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervision
- Ability to travel provincially on a regular basis / occassionally within Canada as needed
- Occasional International travel required
- Valid drivers license is required
