  • Primary focus for the Supervisor is to maintain the repair work flow at peak proficiency and deliver on time repairs.
  • To properly utilize and coordinate the workforce and maintain effective production of repairs.
  • To utilize, train and actively support the repair shop operation.
  • To review the process and make proposals to reduce Turn-Around- Time and costs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide up to date repair status for daily production meetings with Customer Service Administration and other representatives as requested.
  • Dispatch workload to the Technicians based on Line Repair Unit (LRU) dates and commercial administration requirements by scheduling workloads based on Production requirements.
  • Supervise Repair Technicians to insure quality and quantity of work.
  • Day to Day front-line supervisory control over employees, including disciplinary actions, documentation, input and coordination with upper management to insure active productivity in the workforce.  Major disciplinary actions to be coordinated with Manager and or Ex. Vice President.
  • Maintain tracking of employee data and report to front offices, as required, regarding time due to personal, vacation or other absenteeism and report any deficiencies to management.
  • Control workflow and insure Repair Technicians are effectively utilized to maximize available production hours.  Report any staff changes to Manager and/or EX. Vice President.
  • Assist Repair Technicians with technical problems and work with Repair Development and Technical Support Groups to resolve problems.
  • Insure tooling and test equipment within the work area is in good working order and properly maintained and stored.
  • Coordinate and approve purchase orders for tools and equipment requests/repairs in agreement with Manager and /or Ex. Vice President.
  • Anticipate shortages and coordinate with Supply Chain Department regarding potential “Awaiting Parts” issues for DRP, consumables and non-production materials.
  • Work in Process improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce shop flow days.
  • Initiate and supervise training.  Develop cross training patterns to minimize effects of absenteeism.
  • Participate and provide accurate employee evaluations.
  • Driving individual and group accountability in achieving desired results and adhering to procedures and plant rules.
  • Focus on safety to continue to develop a positive safety culture, critical to a “zero accident” environment.
  • Participate in training initiatives for self-improvement by training and assisting subordinates in the proper work procedure, and practices to be followed.
  • Assure that Repair Station personnel follow the procedures established in the RSM/QM.
  • Coordinate with Shop Manager on process improvement and productivity.
  • Coordinate with Commercial Department (back office) regarding procedures for timely repair flow.
  • Organize with Quality and supervise cross training.
