Responsible for the safe and effective repair and maintenance of machinery and components on heavy equipment, in the field, at customer sites, to high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.

The schedule is Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week and assigned to after-hours On-call per a rotational schedule. Territory covers Southern British Columbia.

Field Service Technician - Heavy Equipment Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair Liebherr machinery and components including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines, gearbox/drive train, to resolve moderate to complex problems
  • Scheduled maintenance and oil samples, repair or overhaul usually requiring component replacement, commissioning and adjustment of mechanical/hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment
  • Recondition and overhaul of equipment components and systems as assigned
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections and preparation of new and used equipment for delivery to the customer
  • Ensure warranty updates are completed as per factory instructions and requirements
  • Ensure all repairs are carried out as per Liebherr service documentation
  • Accurate and timely submission of service reports and technical documents
  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with company policy
  • Communicate on a daily basis with the customers and the Liebherr service advisor to ensure we provide a high level of customer service

Field Service Technician - Heavy Equipment Requirements

  • Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic
  • Experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment in a related field
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and diagnostic skills of moderate to complex issues
  • Specialist level knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings
  • Ability to multi-task and remain level-headed in demanding situations
  • Communication of detailed and complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • MS Office, service reporting/time entry and parts ordering software
  • Resourceful and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Follows instructions, guidelines and protocols
  • Basic math skills
  • Specific equipment knowledge on material handing, earth moving, and construction equipment
  • Valid Driver’s license and Canadian Passport
