Leader systems for high inclinations and large radii

The deep foundation machines of the LRH series are a perfect combination of innovative leader design, powerful attachment tool and smart basic machine. Sophisticated leaders enable a wide range of applications, especially when large radii or very high inclinations are required.

LRH 600 with fixed leader

The leader is attached to the boom head of the crawler crane or duty cycle crawler crane. In addition to pile driving with a hammer or a vibrator, the LRH series of machines can be used for drilling operations with continuous flight auger or down-the-hole hammer. Further applications include soil mixing and cutter soil mixing. Even deep gravel columns can be installed using vibro-replacement.

LRH 600 with swinging leader

With this design, the leader hangs on a special traverse. This equipment is especially suitable for installing steel piling elements up to 50 m long, as well as for piling work with large inclinations. Therefore, the swinging leader is often used for marine constructions. The configuration using a vertically suspended and reduced leader is ideal for driving sheet piles.

A matter of inclination: foundation piles for a railway bridge

  • Skin friction piles each weighing 29 t with a length of 58 m and a diameter of 1016 mm.
  • Inclination: 1:5 (11.3°)
  • Basic machine: HS 895 HD on a barge

Full displacement bored piles

  • Pile diameter: 360 mm
  • Drilling depth: 51 m
  • Rotary drive: BAT 320
  • Basic machine: LR 1300 SX

Foundations for a protective dam/embankment

  • Piling element: spirally welded pipes
  • Length: 38 m
  • Diameter: 762 mm
  • Weight: 9 t
  • Basic machine: HS 895 HD

Lattice leader

The leader’s lattice design provides a high level of stability, ideal for high outreach and working lengths over 50 metres.

Easy assembly

Quick and easy assembly of the leader sections by means of pin connections.

LRH 100 / LRH 200

Compact piling rigs with especially flexible leader kinematics - this allows for large radii and inclination in all directions.. Timber, concrete or steel piles can be installed without any problem.

All machines in the LRH series are also available as battery-operated versions.

One of a kind

The animation briefly explains the most important technical innovations of the LRH 200.

Foundation for electricity pylons

  • Piling element: spirally welded pipes
  • Diameter: 920 mm
  • Length: 30 m
  • Weight: 9.5 t
  • Inclinations up to 1:4 (14°)

Driving of prefabricated concrete piles for an industrial building

  • Vertical square piles: 270 x 270 mm
  • Pile length: 26 m (2 x 13 m)

The higher the angle, the better

High-voltage pylons located on floodplain meadows directly next to the river are protected by so-called ice floe deflectors. In the event of flooding approaching ice floes are blocked and broken up.

  • H profiles: 400 x 300 mm
  • Length: 10 m
  • Inclination: 1:3 (18.4°)

Renovating the esplanade

The esplanade in Pointe-au-Pic on the St. Lawrence River (Quebec) is being completely modernised. Particularly long piles are being installed in the process, as the load-bearing soil lies at a great depth.

  • Spirally welded pipe piles
  • Diameter: 406 mm
  • Length: 52 m
  • Weight: 6.5 t

Predrilling

Relief drilling reduces the ground pressure on surrounding buildings for the subsequent driving of concrete piles.

Continuous flight auger:

  • Diameter: 250 mm
  • Drilling depth: 12 m

Cement piles:

  • 270 x 270 mm
  • Length: 30 m
  • Weight: 5.3 t

Mobility

The compact piling rig can be transported completely assembled - even with attached free-fall hammer.
