A total of 16 refrigeration and freezing devices of the new BluPerformance equipment generation received the Red Dot Award in the “Product Design” category. The international jury was made up of design experts who evaluated the submitted products - in a process lasting several days - based on criteria such as degree of innovation, quality, functionality and ecological compatibility.
With more than 5,200 submissions from 57 nations, Liebherr was able to secure the coveted seal of approval this year as well. The refrigeration and freezing devices score points with their timeless design, high quality interior and also harmonious lighting concept. With the BluPerformance equipment generation, Liebherr presents not only optically appealing devices but also a series of particularly energy-efficient and future-orientated refrigeration and freezing equipment.
The origins of the Red Dot Award date as far back as 1954. Today, it is considered to be one of the biggest and renowned design competitions in the world. The official award ceremony takes place on 4 July 2016 in the Aalto theater in Essen with an audience of more than 1,200 international guests.

Three Liebherr flat-top cranes support the transformation of Milan's Bovisa gasometers
Two early twentieth century gasometers in the Bovisa district of Milan are being redeveloped into a new innovation campus for Politecnico di Milano, based on a master plan by architect Renzo Piano. THW builds Danube bridge using four Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1 cranes
In Tuttlingen, southern Germany, four small Liebherr cranes have achieved great things: as a temporary replacement for a Danube bridge due for demolition, the LTC 1050-3.1 compact cranes erected a 70-metre-long river crossing as part of a civil defence exercise.
