Liebherr has developed a completely new boom system with the designation SX for its 750-tonne lattice boom cranes LR 1750/2 and LG 1750 for erecting the latest generation of wind turbines. Turbines with a hub height of up to 165 metres and component weights of up to 120 tonnes can be erected using the SX system. To date these capacity data were the exclusive domain of cranes in the 1000 tonne class or above.

Liebherr at the Ligna 2017 trade fair with special machines for the timber and forestry industry
At the Ligna 2017 international trade fair for the timber and forestry industry, which takes place from 22 to 26 May 2017 in Hanover, Liebherr is presenting its latest special machines for timber processing companies. Visitors can find the Liebherr trade fair stand in the Open-air site (FG) on the corner of 7th avenue and Logistics avenue, Stand L44.

Liebherr-Transportation Systems a été sélectionné par Siemens AG, Vienne (Autriche) pour fournir des systèmes d’attache inter-caisses rotatifs sur huit tramways Combino à plancher bas. Les tramways seront exploités par la société Verkehrsbetriebe Potsdam GmbH, Potsdam (Allemagne). La commande comprend 48 cylindres de commande, 24 accumulateurs hydrauliques et 24 vannes d’arrêt, et sera livrée d’ici fin 2017.

Crane, heavy haulage and aerial platform contractor LOCAR from Brazil took delivery of four new Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile cranes at a stroke. New technical developments such as VarioBase®, VarioBallast® and the single-engine concept were important criteria for the purchase. LOCAR has updated its crane fleet with these four new 250-tonne cranes.

La pelle sur chenilles Liebherr R 926 pour l’entretien de littoraux de l’île de Texel
Depuis septembre 2016, une nouvelle pelle sur chenilles Liebherr R 926 est en application sur l’île Texel aux Pays-Bas. La société Dros emploie cette pelle pour l’entretien des littoraux de l’île, notamment pour la construction de digues et canaux ainsi que pour les travaux de pompages.

Un jalon important : Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH livre sa 50 000e chargeuse sur pneus
La 50 000e chargeuse sur pneus de Liebherr est sortie de la chaîne d’assemblage de Liebherr-Werk Bischofshofen GmbH. La « machine anniversaire » qui marque cet évènement important, une L 566 XPower®, a été livrée au groupe Geiger. Pius Geiger, associé gérant, et Gernot Beer, directeur Geiger Logistique, se sont rendus à Bischofshofen pour réceptionner personnellement la chargeuse sur pneus.

Liebherr planning new development and demonstration centre in Kirchdorf
Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH will invest over 30 million Euro in a new development and demonstration centre at the site in Kirchdorf over the next five years. Construction work is due to start in 2017 and is expected to be completed by 2021.

The Liebherr Tower Cranes Division planned and completed a job for a 1000 EC-H 50 Litronic in Schelklingen down to the very last detail. A new klinker production line is currently being built there whilst the cement works continues to operate normally.

Heavy haulage and heavy lift contractor Gulf Haulage Heavy Lift Company (GHHL) has erected the first wind turbine in Saudi Arabia. A Liebherr LR 1750 crawler crane was used to erect the 84 metre tower, the 83 tonne nacelle and the 60 metre blades. The wind turbine in Turaif in the north-east of Saudi Arabia will generate power for a bulk plant facility operated by state oil company Saudi Aramco.

Chine : la première pelle sur chenilles Liebherr R 922 Liebherr pour marchés peu régulés
Liebherr a présenté sa nouvelle série de modèles de pelles sur chenilles R 920, R 922 et R 924 pour la première fois au salon bauma en 2016. Conformes aux exigences des clients des marchés peu régulées, ces machines sont basées sur les normes européennes éprouvées. Une nouvelle R 922 fabriquée par Liebherr Machinery (Dalian) Co. Ltd est utilisée par la société Xi’an Tianyi Earth-moving Co. Ltd depuis août 2016. Cette pelle est l'une des premières machines de la nouvelle série de modèles exploitées en Chine.

Mamut de Colombia building a new metro line in Panama City using several Liebherr mobile cranes
Colombian crane contractor Mamut de Colombia is currently working on the construction of metro line 2 in Panama City. This involves two Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile cranes and a Liebherr LTM 1400-7.1 crane hoisting a total of 1640 U-shaped concrete beams weighing up to 161 tonnes onto prefabricated pillars by the end of 2018.

Conexpo saw Liebherr showcase two new 6-cylinder in-line engines, which will be strengthening the portfolio in 2019. The D956 and D966 share nearly identical dimensions, and cover a wide power range from 320 to 450 kW, with displacements of 12 and 13.5 litres, respectively.
