Aerospace competence from Liebherr

• Liebherr engine bleed air systems have flown a total of over 320 million flight hours.
• Over 15,000 aircraft and helicopters are equipped with flight-critical systems made by Liebherr.
• Every year over 1,500 aircraft are manufactured containing Liebherr systems.
• Bleed valves for air systems can withstand airflows with pressures up to 60 bar and temperatures up to 600°C and they work in ambient temperatures up to 230°C.

Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS is ISO 14001 certified since 2007. This certification attests the continuous improvement approach led by the company to improve its environmental performance.

In order to address its major challenges, the company has been integrating for many years the development of more environmentally friendly technologies into its R&T activities.

An eco-design approach was also initiated and implemented into several R&T projects. This approach is aimed at being widely used to support the environmental performance of the company.

Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS has regularly carried out its Greenhouse Gas Emissions Assessment, which was followed by actions in order to reduce these emissions. The latest report published in 2019 shows an emission of 2263 Tons of CO2 in 2018, a general trend of 34% decrease in emissions (scope 1 and 2) in comparison with 2014 in a context of growth (+145 employees from 2014 to 2018 and +20% of turnover between 2014 and 2018). To strengthen its approach, the company is committed to assessing its indirect emissions (scope 3) for all its activities.

On the social plan, the company has started implementing a deep social transformation in order to put its employees at the center of its concerns. Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS also employs prisoners in a penitentiary center and contributes to their reintegration.
