Cutter Soil Mixing
For cutter soil mixing rotating drums break up the soil structure. Simultaneously a self-hardening binding agent suspension is added. The binding agents used are mainly cement types or mixtures of cement and bentonite. These are mixed with water to form a suspension. The drums of the mixing tool rotate around the horizontal axis so producing soil mixing elements with a rectangular cross-section.

The mixing equipment for cutter soil mixing consists of a rectangular Kelly bar and the cutting head.

The hydraulically driven drums which are fitted with cutting teeth loosen and mix the soil.
Mixing the soil
Counter-rotating drums provide uniform mixing and a homogeneous mixing result.
Inserting the cutting head
As the cutting head penetrates the ground a binding agent suspension is introduced through an injection pipe and mixed with the soil.
Extracting the cutting head
During extraction the binding agent is further added in doses. Thereby the soil mortar is mixed rotationally a second time.
Insertion of a reinforcement
If required, the freshly produced soil mixing panels can be fitted with reinforcement structures.
