Responsibilities

  • In this position you will be responsible for the engine Performance & Emissions for heavy duty combustion engines in the context of innovative and continuous engine development
  • Your scope of responsibility covers milestones like the hardware-freeze, the calibration and tuning of the stationary and dynamic engine operation, exhaust after treatment system calibration (dosing, regeneration strategies), robustness of calibrations as well as engine certification if necessary
  • You support the diagnostic application and calibrate engine protection functions
  • The synthesis and evaluation of results is part of your daily job as well as the production of development reports and the reporting of development activities for engines under development
  • You provide datasets that are used in machines and form the interface to the machine integration group
  • You support the production end of line testing as a technical Performance and Emission expert for the engines you are responsible for
  • You will be part of project teams including responsibility for reporting progresses, issues and improvements to your direct management
  • You will contribute to the continuous optimisation of the work processes in the area of Performance & Emissions development with regard to test planning and engine assembly, engine application, test evaluation, test programme and documentation
  • Finally, you will cooperate closely with the mechanical development and validation team and exchange information with them

Requirements

  • You have successfully completed your studies in the field of Mechanical Engineering (m/f/x) or an equivalent degree, ideally specialized in combustion engine / powertrain technology
  • You can present at least 3 years of experience in the field of combustion engine development, especially in the field of engine calibration and application
  • Additionally, you have acquired in-depth knowledge of MS Office and an engine calibration software (e.g. INCA)
  • You possess fluent proficiency in English, good knowledge in French and / or of German is highly desirable
  • You are passioned about technology, you are driven by innovation and solution oriented spirit with excellent implementation skills
  • Your personality is characterized by a high team spirit, sense of responsibility, flexibility and autonomy
