Пресс-релизы | 02.10.2014 Liebherr Supplies Hydraulic Leveling Actuators for Cincinnati’s New Rail Cars

Liebherr was selected by Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, S.A. (CAF) to develop and manufacture leveling actuators for rail cars to be operated on the tram network in Cincinnati, Ohio (USA).

Liebherr-Transportation Systems was selected by Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, S.A. (CAF) of Beasain (Spain) to develop and manufacture 48 hydraulic leveling actuators for a total of five rail cars. These vehicles will be operated on the new tram network in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio (USA). The contract also covers an option for a further 250 actuators.

Thanks to Liebherr’s hydraulic leveling actuators, the entrance height of a rail car can be adjusted to the level of the platform, which makes boarding and de-boarding easier, for physically disabled people in particular.

The new contract with CAF strengthens Liebherr-Transportation Systems' leading position in the field of hydraulic actuators for rail vehicles on the North American market.
