15.06.2013 First Flight: Liebherr-Aerospace on Board the Airbus A350 XWB
Liebherr-Aerospace supplies major systems and components for the Airbus A350 XWB, which successfully made its first flight on June 14, 2013: The nose landing gear, the slat actuation system as well as several flap actuation key components. Designed, developed and manufactured by Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, Lindenberg (Germany), Liebherr’s center of excellence for landing gear, flight control and actuation systems, they feature the latest technologies for the next generation of long-range aircraft – such as advanced light-weight materials and coatings, or high-level integration of power electronics together with precision mechanics and high-pressure hydraulics.
Liebherr took advantage of its extensive experience it had gained in the commercial aviation sector – and especially through all Airbus programs – to optimize the operating costs and reliability of its systems for the A350 XWB.
Liebherr-Aerospace congratulates the whole team of Airbus and its partners for this key achievement, and is proud to contribute to the success of the A350 XWB.
