ATS relies on proven quality: new Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane modernises fleet

ATS Cranes S.A. has put a new Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane into service. The 5-axle crane replaces an LTM 1200-5.1 that is around ten years old, marking the next step in the further development of the fleet. “We compared various manufacturers and once again opted for Liebherr based on the overall package of quality, price and service,” says Managing Director Frédéric Kleinhans. “We were very satisfied with the previous model for many years – for us, the LTM 1230-5.1 is the logical next step.”

The new mobile crane offers a maximum lifting capacity of 230 tonnes and is equipped with a 75-metre-long telescopic boom, one of the longest in its class. A key feature of the 5-axle crane is its innovative VarioBase® system. This technology enables high lifting capacities even in confined spaces and provides additional performance reserves, particularly in the rear working area.

Special livery to mark the anniversary

“The combination of a long telescopic boom and a double-folding jib significantly increases the crane’s flexibility. This enables us to carry out a wide variety of jobs – from traditional construction sites and industrial projects to assembly work – cost-effectively,” says Kleinhans.

The LTM 1230-5.1 fits seamlessly into the existing fleet of ATS Cranes S.A., which consists predominantly of Liebherr machines. A special feature: alongside technical performance, an emotional factor also played an important role in this investment. “To mark our upcoming 25th company anniversary, we opted for an eye-catching special paint scheme in the colours of the Luxembourg flag,” explains Kleinhans. “The colour scheme is a real highlight and has been extremely well received by our customers – even our competitors have congratulated us on it!”
