At Intermat 2024, Liebherr handed over an L 507 E battery-electric wheel loader to SAS André LAFONT TP, based in Orthez, in the southwest of France. This is the first Liebherr electric wheel loader to be used in France. With this acquisition, SAS is taking a significant step towards a sustainable future.

The L 507 E will be used in the French company's waste disposal plant. The battery-electric wheel loader partly utilises renewable energy generated by a photovoltaic system on the company's roof. Thanks to its alternative drive concept, the L 507 E operates with zero local emissions, low noise levels and is just as powerful as conventionally powered wheel loaders. For this reason, SAS André LAFONT TP will also use the battery-powered wheel loader in the construction industry for work in enclosed spaces or in environmentally sensitive areas.

Liebherr relies on a high-voltage battery system – specially developed for L 507 E wheel loader applications – which ensures powerful performance and efficient charging. Depending on the respective operating conditions, the L 507 E offers a running time of up to eight hours. Liebherr’s modular battery design also makes it possible to install a second lithium-ion battery ex works at the customer’s request, which further increases the running time. Depending on the on-board charging technology and power rating, the battery can be fully charged in one and a half to three hours.
