Service quality based on advanced training

Regular training in our own training centres enables us to guarantee the high quality of Liebherr's service offering.

New technical discoveries make it essential to follow the latest developments in the mobile and crawler crane market. The aim of the training team is therefore to continue to develop and pass on new skills and the latest expertise to Liebherr personnel.

The range extends from product and technology seminars and workshops for information technology and data processing to courses for personnel development and management.

    Local training

In addition to training at the Liebherr training centre, we also use specially trained multiplicators. This enables us to cover the training needs of our personnel at our global service locations. The multiplicators pass on their expertise on technical topics locally to our trained personnel. This enables us to keep our service team right up to date.

Liebherr has been running its own welding competence centre since 2012 on the basis that the best quality steel is no use unless we can join it. Up to 300 people receive training there every year.

Liebherr delivers basic and advanced training to up to 300 people from our mobile cranes division every year in our own welding competence centre. This enables the company to ensure that it has plenty of well trained young talent. At the same time the welding competence centre in Ehingen/Donau provides experienced skilled personnel with an opportunity to keep their expertise and skills up to date.

The managers at the training centre work closely with welding specialists from design, development and production to tailor the course contents to the specific requirements of cranes.

The training film shows the procedure of pulling the upper luffing pulley block to the front and back again during the luffing jib assembly/disassembly on the LTM 1750-9.1. This procedure reduces the loading of the hoist rope of winch 1 considerably and extends therefore the lifetime of the rope.

Using multilayer spooling of the hoist rope, as is normal on mobile and crawler cranes, the greatest stress for the rope occurs at the crossing areas on the winch. The damage which occurs here generally plays a major part in the rope reaching its "replacement state". With this movie we want to show how you can increase rope’s service life by hoist rope cut-off.
