Liebherr Sunderland Works Ltd Celebrates 25 Years

Liebherr Sunderland Works Ltd, which started production in 1989, is a manufacturing plant for maritime cranes and cargo handling equipment including ship and port cranes, offshore cranes and mobile harbour cranes. On Friday [July, 11], the equipment manufacturer played host to staff, stakeholders and members of the family that own Liebherr, with a day of tours of its Ayres Quay base, before an evening of celebration at the city’s Stadium of Light. Liebherr heavy lift offshore crane starts operation in Global Tech I

In early March Liebherr’s new heavy lift offshore crane CAL 45000-1200 Litronic® successfully started with the installation of AREVA Wind’s rotor stars in the North Sea wind park Global Tech I. The crane which was built at the Liebherr MCCtec Rostock GmbH and assembled at the Crist shipyard in the Polish town of Gdynia is part of the jack-up vessel Vidar belonging to Hochtief Solutions. Liebherr heavy lift fix mounted crane is used for lifting tour boats at the Niagara Falls, NY

In the last couple of weeks a Liebherr heavy lift fix mounted crane was installed on a new drydock facility on the U.S. side of the famous Niagara Falls in New York state. On October 31st it completed its first job: the crane lifted passenger tour boats out of the water for the local company Maid of the Mist. Find out more
