Controlled axle steering
Liebherr’s controlled axle steering (LiCAS) system is a groundbreaking innovation that minimizes wear on rails and wheels while enhancing stability and control. By reducing vibrations and noise levels, it improves safety, passenger comfort, and the longevity of rail infrastructure, contributing to resource conservation. LiCAS underwent successful field testing in collaboration with British railroad company Grand Central (part of the Arriva Group) and NewRail, the rail transport research center at Newcastle University.
