Always on – Always improving
The use phase contributes greatly to the environmental impact of an appliance. That is why we focus on energy efficiency, durability, and repairability — ensuring long-lasting performance while reducing costs and footprint. Our technologies also help minimise food waste, supporting a more sustainable way of storing and preserving food.

How our appliances support more sustainable living

Durability and repairability of our appliances
We prioritise durability and repairability as essential elements of our sustainability strategy. Our appliances are designed to provide lasting quality, which helps minimise resource consumption and waste.
We utilise high-quality materials, perform thorough testing, and ensure that repairs are simple, allowing for efficient use over many years. By creating durable appliances, we conserve resources and offer long-term value to our customers.

Materials that stand the test of time
By selecting high-quality materials, we reduce the need for frequent replacements, enhancing sustainability and customer satisfaction. Our door hinges, for example, undergo at least 100,000 opening cycles — equivalent to over 15 years of use — before approval. This rigorous testing applies to all functional parts, ensuring that each contributes to a durable and high-performance appliance.
Service quality for long-lasting appliances
Our appliances, both household and professional, are built to last and are designed for repair. Spare parts are available for 15 years after production for models made since 2021. Repairs are simplified with standard tools, allowing technicians to replace all functional parts. Certain components, such as interior fittings, can be replaced by customers with basic repair skills. Operating instructions and spare part details are readily available.
Service specialists receive continuous training to stay updated on targeted diagnosis approaches and repair concepts. With a global service network, 85 % of issues are resolved on the first visit, often remotely.
