The blaster is responsible for the application of abrasive removal of mill scale, paint and other surface imperfections that will not allow the Liebherr coating to properly adhere to the OHT components.

Responsibilities

• Routinely clean and inspect sandblaster equipment.
• Follow and abide by all environmental safety protocols established by OSH guidelines.
• Knows all customer requirements, i.e. surface preparation.
• Understands the basics of the blasting operation.
• Must be able to meet the requirements of the Physical Task Analysis, including working in confined spaces and wearing a positive air flow hood.
• Experience using industrial blasting or vacuuming equipment.

Competencies

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Oral Communication:  Speaks clearly; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Participates in meetings.
• Language Skills:  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Dependability:  Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
• Organizational Support:  Follows policies and procedures; Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports organization's goals and values; Supports affirmative action and respects diversity.
• Quantity:  Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.
