Liebherr-Australia delivers first R 9600 to Northern Star Resources at the Super Pit in Western Australia

Earlier this month, Northern Star Resources took delivery of its first ultra-class Liebherr excavator, a 600-tonne R 9600, at the Super Pit in Western Australia. The new machine joins 17 Liebherr machines already operating across Northern Star Resources’ operations. A second R 9600 is expected at the Super Pit in October.

Bridge construction in a bottleneck: Liebherr cranes provide support on the Swiss N16 national road

In the canton of Bern, Walo Bertschinger AG is rebuilding two bridges on the N16 national road between Tavannes and Biel on behalf of the Federal Roads Office. The construction site is situated in a narrow valley with a motorway, railway line and river running alongside it; furthermore, two existing bridges are immediately adjacent to the site. KG from Straubing is relying on technology from Ehingen to modernise its crane fleet: following the acquisition of an LTC 1050-3.1 and an LTM 1150-5.3 around two years ago, the Lower Bavarian crane and transport company now operates a further LTM 1150-5.3. With a twelve-tonne axle load, the LTM 1150-5.3 carries nine tonnes of counterweight on public roads, enabling it to carry out many jobs without the need for an additional vehicle to transport ballast.
