Eurogruas 2000 took delivery of the first new Liebherr LR 1800-1.0 crawler crane at the Bauma 2019. The 800-tonne crawler crane, the largest exhibit at the entire trade show, was delivered to the Spanish crane contractor immediately after the end of the Bauma event. Eurogruas 2000 has added an 800-tonne crawler crane to its crane fleet – the LR 1800-1.0 features outstanding lifting capacities and low cost global transportation. It has been designed as a particularly powerful industrial crane for jobs with a luffing jib and derrick system, for example for power plant construction and the petrochemicals industry. This type of heavy hoist will be the main areas of use for Eurogruas’ new crane.

When Liebherr unveiled its new 800-tonne crawler crane last year at its Customer Days at the manufacturing plant in Ehingen, Eurogruas 2000 was very quickly persuaded by the concept behind the LR 1800-1.0. Managing Director Javier Sato explains: “To suit the characteristics of our market, we were looking for a powerful, versatile, modular crane which is easy to transport and delivers high standards of safety. The ability to slide three lattice sections into each other makes it very economical to transport. The performance of the LR 1800-1.0 is unique in its class.”

Eurogruas 2000 also ordered the V-frame, a new ballasting system for the suspended ballast. A hydraulically adjustable frame enables the ballast radius to be adjusted between 11 and 23 metres. “That makes it extremely flexible in highly constricted conditions and speeds up the completion of crane jobs. The LR 1800-1.0 is ideal for crane jobs in small spaces, but it is also a very universal crane for a wide range of uses,” adds Javier Sato.

The Eurogruas 2000 Group is made up of various crane contractors based in the south of Spain. In total, the Group operates around 150 mobile and crawler cranes with lifting capacities of up to 1000 tonnes. In addition to Andalusia and Murcia, Eurogruas 2000 mobile cranes are active throughout Spain and in other countries including Brazil and Africa. Eurogruas main areas of work include the erection of wind turbines, petrochemicals, infrastructure projects and covering local demand in the catchment areas of the companies which make up the Group.
