The machines are delivered either dismantled, partially or completely assembled, mostly on ships or barges. Transportation by rail or road is also possible. With its direct connection to the sea, the Liebherr plant in Rostock is perfectly suited for the international shipment of large-scale equipment. Loading by the RoRo method
RoRo stands for "roll on/roll off" and refers to ship transport in which the cargo is driven onto the vessel. This entails special ships with accessible decks, often with variable heights. Using this method, Liebherr mobile harbour cranes can be loaded fully assembled and fully functional. This means that the equipment is immediately ready for operation at the port of destination.

Loading by the LoLo method
LoLo stands for "Lift on/Lift off" and refers to ship transport in which the cargo is lifted onto the ship using on-board ship cranes. Liebherr ship, offshore and mobile harbour cranes can thus be loaded fully erected and functional using the LoLo method and are thus immediately ready for use at the port of destination.

Loading with mobile harbour cranes
Liebherr mobile harbour cranes are used particularly to load disassembled equipment and cranes with smaller tonnages. In a tandem lift, two Liebherr LHM 800 mobile harbour cranes can move a load of up to 616 tonnes.

Loading in the heavy-lift sector
With the TCC 78000, the Liebherr plant in Rostock (Germany) has one of the most powerful harbour gantry cranes in the world. The rail-mounted heavy-duty crane can travel with load and has a maximum lifting capacity of 1,600 tonnes. This means that even large-dimensioned equipment can be loaded safely and quickly in a single lift.

Shipping by road
Due to the excellent infrastructure in the Port of Rostock, Liebherr maritime cranes are not only delivered by sea, but also by road. The direct connection from the Liebherr factory to the German motorway network enables fast and uncomplicated delivery by road.

Excellent accessibility in the Port of Rostock
The Liebherr plant in Rostock offers the best logistical conditions for the international shipment of maritime cranes. The surrounding berths are accessible for ships with a draught of up to 13 metres without obstacles such as locks or bridges. Due to the direct connection to the German rail and motorway network, transport by road or train can also be carried out quickly and easily.

Strong partners
On-boarding ship cranes are used to load the LPS 420 safely, quickly and efficiently on deck. Liebherr has access to a large network of strong partners for the logistics of maritime cranes.
Short distances
Delivery by pontoon offers a good alternative for routes within the North Sea and Baltic Sea. This LHM 420 was delivered shortly before Christmas and brings its new owner a fir tree directly to the quay edge.
Large berths
The quaysides in Rostock's international port also offer sufficient space for larger ships. This almost 200-metre long PCTC vessel loaded partially assembled offshore and ship cranes below deck using the RoRo method.
Building bridges
After erection, the container gantry cranes can also be loaded fully functional. Two Liebherr STS cranes are transported onto a barge using the RoRo method. Liebherr container cranes are generally produced at the production site in Killarney (Ireland).
