5 reasons Liebherr crawler excavators are the top choice for demo applications

Demolition projects come with their own set of challenges, so finding the right machine for the job is a top priority. Complete with a diverse product range of special applications and traditional crawler excavators that are ideal for demolition sites and are completely redesigned to provide customers with a high performance machine equipped with next-level technology. Here are 5 reasons a Liebherr crawler excavator is the top choice for your next demo project:

Take a look into the future with Liebherr Gen 8 crawler excavators.

1. State-of-the-art design

Liebherr’s Generation 8 crawler excavators are a complete revision of its predecessors with a new design that allows for lower fuel consumption and optimized upper carriage swing torque for more efficient work on site. Offering customization to fit your specific demolition project, customers have the choice to include the new WLC undercarriage that was developed specifically for heavy duty applications that require high stability. Gen 8 machines also provide improved operator experience with a large touchscreen display for full monitoring and suspended pneumatic seats for enhanced comfort during operation.

All Liebherr demolition excavators are built with an uppercarriage and swing ring that has one continuous box beam to improve stability and can withstand extreme forces.

2. Purpose-built power

In addition to our tradtional equipment, we also provide customers with a full line of heavy-duty demolition equipment, including crawler excavators. Built with a strong backbone for challenging applications, the uppercarriage and swing ring is designed with one continuous box beam that allows it to withstand extreme forces.

The new and improved crawler excavators are designed to give operators more power than ever before. Designed to help keep demolition on track, the new crawler excavators are built with a Stage V engine that complies with US EPA Tier 4 Final exhaust emissions standards and higher digging forces. The machine’s redesigned undercarriage also offers greater traction, especially in the difficult terrain of a demo site.

Panoramic visibility from the cab and a 30° adjustable cab allows operators to safely view the entire working area during operation.

3. Safety on site

Safety is important especially on busy demolition sites, that’s why Liebherr machines allow operators to easily keep an eye on everything around them while working. For our demolition excavators an adjustable cab comes standard, allowing operators to tilt the cab up to 30 degrees for full view of the working area, along with a dust supression system to reduce the amount of dust and maintain an uninhibited view during operation.

All Generation 8 machines are also equipped with a completely revamped LED lighting package for clear visibility of the working area. Additionally the machine is equipped with rear and side mounted cameras providing panoramic visibility from the cab to minimize blind spots. Rollover protection structures are also available for the cab to protect operators from any debris.

Maintenance is made easier on Gen 8 excavators by making service points more easily accessible.

4. Keeping maintenance in mind

Reducing machine downtime due to maintenance is paramount in maintaining efficient demolition and keeping the project on track. Liebherr demolition excavators are designed with components meant to withstand extreme forces while maintaining a long service life.

Built using an innovative service concept, many of the Generation 8 crawler excavators have service points accessible from ground level, as well as handrails added to maintenance platforms. Operators are also able to stay on top of maintenance by viewing all oil and fluid levels clearly on the touchscreen display in the cab keeping machine downtime low and productivity high.
