Duty cycle crawler cranes from Liebher are used for a wide variety of applications with a dragline bucket, mostly for the mining of sand and/or gravel. The dragline bucket is more or less cast as required through the swinging of the duty cycle crawler crane.

Grab operation
Thanks to their robust design and the high line pull of the main winches, duty cycle crawler cranes from Liebherr are ideal for jobs using heavy grabs.
During operation with material handling grabs, the stabilizing winch with constant tension and free-fall prevents swinging of the grab and ensures exact positioning of the material.
Sand quarrying
The HS 895 HD - duty cycle machine with two 350 kN winches - is handling 400 t of sand per hour. With a swing angle of approx. 180° it requires only 45 seconds per cycle. The digging depth has been increased to 40 m. The grab, with a filling capacity of 5 m³, can optimally penetrate very hard soils or interlocked material thanks to the specifically rounded shape and the grab teeth.
