Liebherr unveils a new 250-tonne mobile crane to visitors from all over the world at its 2015 customer days at the manufacturing plant in Ehingen. The LTM 1250-5.1 is now the most powerful mobile crane on 5 axles on the market. It is the third crane model on which Liebherr uses its innovative single-engine concept. In addition to a multi-functional folding jib, a 50m fixed jib is also available. The Liebherr innovations VarioBase® and ECOmode mean that crane operators can use the new LTM 1250-5.1 with even more safety and efficiency.
VarioBallast is a new feature for Liebherr. The LTM 1250-5.1 can be operated with two different ballast radii: 5.58m or 4.78m. Liebherr has designed a solution to adjust the ballast radius particularly quickly and easily. The ballast radius is reduced by 800mm using standard mechanically swivelling ballasting cylinders. This solution is a major benefit of the new 250-tonne model for use in constricted conditions.

Permit-free from south to north: new Liebherr LTM 1055-3.3 mobile crane for Schlamann-Autokrane GmbH
The LTM 1055-3.3 is the second of four new Liebherr mobile cranes ordered by Schlamann-Autokrane GmbH this year. The new 55-tonne crane is the lightest 3-axle all-terrain crane on the market: it travelled from the Liebherr plant in Ehingen, Upper Swabia, to Nienburg in Lower Saxony without the need for complex authorisation procedures.

Game of Cranes returns: Liebherr is looking for the world’s best mobile crane operator
Following its successful debut last year, Game of Cranes is returning: companies from around the world can once again nominate their best crane operators. Participants will demonstrate precision, dexterity and nerves of steel in a series of demanding challenges. Community voting, evaluation by a Liebherr expert panel and five regional qualifying rounds will pave the way to the grand final in Ehingen in 2027.
