At Liebherr-Components Deggendorf GmbH, nearly 390 employees currently develop and produce individual components and systems solutions for fuel injection systems designed for petroleum based or alternative fuels in combustion engines. The robust and reliable systems are developed in-house and are used both in Liebherr-own engines, as well as in OEM applications. They are specifically designed to meet the high demands of agricultural, construction and mining machinery, commercial vehicles, engines for decentralised energy production, the maritime and railway sector.

High pressure pumps at the test bench
Micro-precision parts for injection systems have been manufactured in Deggendorf, Bavaria, since 1998. In 2015, Liebherr took over the expertise and, one year later, opened a state-of-the-art new plant at the Kreuzäcker site in Deggendorf under the name Liebherr-Components Deggendorf GmbH. In the years that followed, the company developed into a center of excellence for the development, production and assembly of common rail injection solutions for heavy-duty and large engines.
As a pioneer in technology and innovation, Liebherr is also working on drive concepts for alternative fuels. At the end of 2019, the first development steps for injectors specially designed for use in hydrogen injection systems began in Deggendorf. Liebherr Group itself sets the highest standards for a wide range of technological approaches for the use of different fuels. This is supported by the continuous development of injection components for other alternative fuels, such as methanol, ethanol or ammonia.
Thanks to the exceptional product depth and value chain within the Liebherr Group, we are able to carry out the entire validation programme for our injection systems in-house. This process encompasses all essential steps, from examining the individual components on the test bench to testing their functionality in the fully assembled engine and final application in the field. As an OEM in the commercial vehicle sector, the Liebherr Group has decades of expertise in the application of diesel engines and manufactures them in-house at its plants in Bulle, Switzerland, and Colmar, France. In addition to engine production, the plant also carries out the validation and integration of injection systems. This ensures rapid testing and completion of the entire validation programme – from individual components to end-use applications.
