Liebherr-Industrieanlagen AG draws on the expertise and technological capabilities of the Liebherr Group’s manufacturing sites around the world. Together with our partners – whether in the private or public sector – we develop solutions that cover everything from initial planning through to series production.
We support international companies in establishing their own production facilities with the aim of assembling selected Liebherr products locally and marketing them successfully. Our range of services includes:
- technology transfer and licensing: Partners gain access to Liebherr’s tried-and-tested technologies and expertise.
- Planning and setting up production sites: we provide support for the planning, engineering and organisation of local manufacturing and the modernisation of existing factory facilities.
- Supply of manufacturing equipment and components: supply of machinery, components and spare parts required for production.
- Technical documentation and training: comprehensive documentation, targeted training for local employees and technical assistance.
- Flexible brand strategy: the products can be marketed under the partner’s name, under a joint brand name, or as Liebherr equipment.
- Preparation of energy studies and decarbonisation strategies: with the aim of reducing the use of fossil fuels and actively promoting the expansion of renewable energy, particularly in the fields of photovoltaics and hydrogen.

The planning and implementation of industrial plants require many years’ experience in production, manufacturing and assembly to ensure that Liebherr’s quality standards are met, as well as a production site of a suitable size. There must also be scope for expanding production facilities and providing training for employees.
In principle, all Liebherr construction machines can be manufactured locally. This depends on local requirements and priorities in each individual case.
At the outset, Liebherr enters into a licence agreement with its partner in order to set out the framework conditions and the level of in-house production. The terms and conditions also cover the duration of the partnership and any licence fees payable for the expertise provided by Liebherr.
