Enormous increase in lifting capacity through new boom variation from Liebherr

The latest development from the Liebherr crane plant in Ehingen is both innovative and sustainable. The engineers from the Swabian crane manufacturer have taken a quantum leap forwards with the SX boom systems for crane models LR 1750/2 and LG 1750. The improved lifting capacity values resulting from the reinforced lattice booms enables the 750-tonne cranes to lift weights normally reserved for the next higher class of crawler cranes with a 1000-tonne lifting capacity.

The Belgian company Bodarwé was looking for a replacement for its versatile Liebherr R 934 crawler excavator and decided on the successor model from Liebherr, the R 936. This excavator is characterised by its high level of driving and operating comfort and complies with the current emission standards. The Belgian company operates in road construction, earthmoving, mining, as well as in transport, and places high demands which Liebherr has been fulfilling for over 30 years.

Liebherr-Race 2017

On July 15th, the Liebherr-Race 2017 took place on the factory premises of Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH in Kempten, South Germany. 300 pupils divided into 26 teams assembled self-constructed soapbox carts, with which they competed in the soapbox derby. The joint project is a cooperation between Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH, Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, Liebherr-Elektronik GmbH and 14 schools in the surrounding area.

Downer delivers Australia’s newest R 9800 Mining Excavator
