100th Liebherr Mobile Harbour Crane in Spain

Gijón (Spain), November 2019 – Liebherr handed over the 100th Liebherr mobile harbour crane, a new LHM 600, to the Spanish customer Maritima del Principado in Gijón. Spain is now the third country in the world, alongside Russia and India, with a fleet of 100 or more Liebherr mobile harbour cranes.

Kandla Cargo Handlers, based in Mumbai / India, took delivery of a refurbished LTM 1750-9.1 in April this year. The nine axle crane is the largest machine in the fleet of the crane rental company now and will be used mainly for industrial and wind power installations. After the trainings on the LTM 1750-9.1, the first job is now taking place.

Liebherr LR 13000 crawler crane loads massive oil platform

Just three hours rather than the normal 18 and no need to close the waterway – all made possible by the most powerful conventional crawler crane in the world. Mexican crane and heavy haulage contractor ESEASA used its Liebherr LR 13000 crawler crane for the first time to load oil platforms onto barges at the port city of Tampico.

Crane and heavy transport contractor HKV Schmitz+Partner GmbH, based in Cologne, used three 500-tonne Liebherr cranes to transport a gas turbine from the port at Chempark Dormagen to a new-build power plant at the neighbouring site occupied INEOS in Cologne. Two LTM 1500-8.1 mobile cranes hoisted the turbine out of a freighter onto a heavy haulage vehicle and an LR 1500 crawler crane then placed it on a prepared site once it had arrived at the INEOS plant.

Liebherr-Aerospace secured a strategic partnership with a Swiss fuel cell powertrain specialist to integrate Liebherr-Aerospace electrical turbochargers on a heavy-duty truck platform. The equipment will be onboard fuel cell systems for application in the food and beverage ground logistics industry for two giant supermarket chains in Europe.

The Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 mobile crane is getting stronger. The use of refined static calculation methods means that lifting capacity values have been increased across almost the entire working range. The LTM 1750-9.1 is becoming an 800-tonner, with the type designation LTM 1750-9.1 being retained. Liebherr has compiled a new luffing jib configuration using existing lattice sections to provide additional capacity increases for wind power applications. Cranes already in use on the market can be retrofitted with the new system.

Liebherr-Aerospace to Provide Pneumatic Valves for NewRolls-Royce Business Jet Engine

Liebherr-Aerospace has been selected to supply the pneumatic component package for Rolls-Royce’s next-generation business jet engine Pearl 700: Both the pneumatic valves and the actuation devices that control pneumatic power around the engine have been designed, are manufactured and serviced by Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS, Toulouse (France).

Petitjean granite factory – two Liebherr R 956 crawler excavators in the last granite quarry of the Vosges

La Bresse (France), November 2019 – In March 2019, the machinery pool of Petitjean, a granite excavation company based in eastern France's Vosges mountain range, was augmented by two new Liebherr crawler excavators. Both R 956 excavators are being used in two different quarries in La Bresse and Senones, to position heavy weights before mining, to load trucks and for drillers and miners to move large rocks. Supported by local authorised retailer Tilmat, the company decided on the quality and reliability of Liebherr-France SAS's crawler excavators.

Liebherr’s 125 K: the largest fast-erecting crane in its class at work in Switzerland

The crane hire company Vogel Kranvermietung GmbH expands its rental fleet with a Liebherr 125 K fast-erecting crane. With a radius of 55 metres and a maximum hook height of 65.5 metres, it is currently the largest fast-erecting crane on the market. The handover to Vogel Kranvermietung GmbH took place in September. During his visit to this year’s Bauma in Munich, owner Joseph Vogel was impressed by the 125 K fast-erecting crane’s innovative features, and consequently decided to invest in his company’s future.

Hennemann Holzbau renews fleet with two Liebherr mobile cranes

Hennemann Holzbau GmbH from Tautenhain in Saxony has taken ownership of two new mobile cranes from Liebherr. An LTM 1030-2.1 replaces a 13 year-old crane of the same type. And an LTM 1060/2 built in 2004 is replaced by a new LTM 1070-4.2. The company is now ready for the future with an upgraded crane fleet.

A Liebherr R 950 Tunnel crawler excavator is being used on one of the Grand Paris Express construction sites. In this huge project, the Liebherr R 950 Tunnel crawler excavator in shaft 807 of Line 15 is responsible for milling, creating arches and some handling operations. The Alliance Group is fully satisfied with the machine, which has an operating weight of 45 metric tonnes.

The new EC-B cranes win design prize

On 11 October, the 370 EC-B 12 Fibre, representative for the whole EC-B series, was awarded another design prize – the "Focus Open 2019 Gold". In April, Liebherr had presented the new tower crane series on the occasion of Bauma.
