The collapse of a Liebherr crawler crane, type LR 11350, onto the Grand Mosque in Mecca (Saudi Arabia) on 11th September has claimed more than 100 lives – according to current information. Hundreds more people were injured.
Liebherr is extremely saddened by this tragic accident and the fatalities and injuries, and expresses its deep sympathies to the families of the victims. We hope that all persons injured will recover quickly.
As the crane manufacturer, Liebherr does everything in its power to help bring the accident investigation to a speedy and logical conclusion.

Considerate and flexible: two Liebherr NC-B cranes at work in Sai Kung
A new residential development is under construction in Ho Chung, Sai Kung. Foundation and excavation and lateral support works have been underway since December 2024 and are expected to continue until end of 2026. Two Liebherr NC-B 12-70 tower cranes are handling material logistics on the confined site.
