In the Préalle quarry, the use of the machines places high demands on technology and operation. Dust, dirt, and uneven or challenging terrain call for particularly rugged and powerful equipment that can operate reliably even under continuous use. At the same time, economic efficiency plays a key role, as large quantities of material have to be moved efficiently. At the 23-hectare Préalle quarry, the Liebherr L 580 Xpower wheel loader is primarily used for efficiently loading trucks. With an annual flow rate of around 300,000 tonnes, the machine impresses with low consumption values, high reliability and a high level of operator comfort. These factors were decisive for Mathieu SA in its investment decision. Mathieu SA placed particular emphasis on feedback from the operators who use the wheel loader on a daily basis. The power-split XPower travel drive ensures that an optimum combination of performance and efficiency is achieved even under demanding conditions.
R 970 SME crawler excavator: Reliable strength under the demanding conditions
The Liebherr R 970 SME crawler excavator is also in operation at the Préalle quarry and fits perfectly into Mathieu SA’s versatile Liebherr fleet. The machine is primarily used for excavation and extraction work and impresses with its high stability, powerful hydraulics and reliability in continuous operation. The R 970 SME shows its strengths particularly in demanding quarry environments with dust, heavy materials and changing operating conditions and contributes significantly to a smooth material flow.
