DOP Product / Platform Lead (m/f/x)Kirchdorf/Oberopfingen
Turn complex business needs into scalable digital capabilities. Connecting business processes, data and technologies across an international industrial group requires more than individual solutions. It requires a shared platform with a clear product vision, strong ownership and measurable business value.
As DOP Product / Platform Lead (m/f/x), you will shape and develop our Digital Operations Platform (DOP). You will translate cross-divisional business needs into a coherent roadmap, bring together business and technology stakeholders, and drive the adoption of reusable platform capabilities.
DOP connects existing enterprise systems through shared integration, process orchestration, data and intelligence services. Its initial use cases include Integrated Supply Chain Planning and Engineering Change across PLM and ERP systems. Your challenge will be to deliver tangible value through these use cases while building a platform that can scale beyond them.
Internal Titel: Integration Architect (m/f/x)
Creating passion: your responsibilities
- Own the platform vision and roadmap. Define and continuously evolve the DOP product strategy, translating business priorities into clear outcomes, platform capabilities and an actionable roadmap
- Manage demand and prioritisation. Establish a structured use-case intake and discovery process. Prioritise the platform backlog based on business value, strategic fit, reuse potential, feasibility, dependencies and cost
- Balance immediate value with long-term scalability. Deliver valuable end-to-end increments while ensuring that use-case investments strengthen shared capabilities rather than create isolated solutions
- Lead across organisational boundaries. Provide cross-functional product leadership for business domains, enterprise technology teams, divisional IT and external partners, aligning their contributions around common priorities
- Translate architecture into product priorities. Work closely with the DOP Lead Architect and Platform Engineering Lead to turn architectural direction into deliverable capabilities, balancing functional needs, technical sustainability and operational readiness
- Steer investment and platform economics. Develop business cases and funding proposals, make costs and capacity needs transparent, and steer delivery within approved financial and governance frameworks
- Drive adoption and value realisation. Partner with domain product and process owners to support onboarding, enablement and rollout across divisions and sites. Define success measures and use feedback to improve the platform
- Manage strategic partners. Define outcome-oriented partner contributions, monitor delivery commitments and ensure that product ownership, reusable knowledge and critical capabilities remain internal
- Shape the platform lifecycle. Agree service expectations, lifecycle priorities and support arrangements with engineering and operations teams, ensuring that capabilities become sustainable platform services
- Provide transparent product governance. Communicate roadmap decisions, progress, trade-offs and risks to stakeholders and governance bodies, working closely with programme management
Your organisational context
The role is positioned within Development & Integration and serves as the Product Lead within the cross-functional DOP programme. Your internal job title will be Integration Architect.
You will own product direction, roadmap priorities, platform adoption and value. You will work in close partnership with the DOP Lead Architect, who holds architecture and design authority, and the Platform Engineering Lead, who is accountable for platform build and operations. Business domains retain ownership of their processes, domain capabilities and business semantics.
The impact you will make. Your success will be reflected in:
- A clear, prioritised roadmap linking platform investment to business outcomes
- Initial use cases delivering tangible value while establishing reusable capabilities
- Increasing adoption across participating domains, divisions and sites
- Reduced duplication and more efficient onboarding of subsequent use cases
- Transparent platform costs, delivery commitments and benefits
- Sustainable internal ownership and a platform that remains valuable beyond the initial programme
Contributing your strengths: your qualifications
Your experience and expertise
- A degree in business informatics, computer science, engineering, business administration or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience
- Substantial experience in enterprise product management, platform leadership or digital transformation, with responsibility for complex, cross-functional products or services
- A demonstrated ability to take platform capabilities from strategy and discovery through delivery, adoption and continuous improvement
- Strong capabilities in product strategy, roadmap development, backlog prioritisation and outcome-based delivery
- A sound understanding of enterprise integration, APIs, event-driven architectures and cross-system workflow orchestration, enabling you to engage effectively with architects and engineering teams
- An understanding of data products, shared business semantics and federated ownership, including how common standards can support interoperability without removing domain accountability
- Commercial and financial acumen, including business-case development, investment prioritisation, total cost of ownership and supplier management
- Experience working in international matrix organisations and aligning stakeholders with different business priorities and technical perspectives
- Familiarity with agile product delivery and the transition from project-based implementation to sustainable platform ownership
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to make complex topics and decisions accessible to business and technology audiences
Your leadership competencies
- Strategic judgement: You connect long-term platform direction with practical business priorities
