MACA welcomes its first Liebherr dozers into its mining fleet

On 30 May, Liebherr-Australia commissioned three PR 776 G8 dozers for MACA – the first Liebherr dozers to enter MACA’s mining fleet
These dozers will be deployed at the Duketon Gold Project in Western Australia
Two R 9300 excavators are scheduled to be delivered to MACA in the latter half of 2026

In late May, Liebherr-Australia delivered three new PR 776 G8 dozers to mining services provider MACA, a Thiess company, at the Duketon Gold Project, which is operated by Regis Resources. These are the first Liebherr dozers to join MACA’s mining fleet. Liebherr-Australia will also deliver two R 9300 excavators to MACA later this year.

Adelaide (Australia), 30 June 2026 – The delivery of these machines marks a significant milestone in the relationship between Liebherr-Australia and MACA, one of Australia’s leading contractors in the mining, infrastructure and construction sectors.

‘This latest delivery builds on our long-standing relationship with MACA and also represents an important step in increasing the presence of Liebherr dozers in the Australian market,’ says Brian Boitano, executive general manager of sales, marketing, training and solutions for Liebherr-Australia.

Powerful pushing with the PR 776 G8

Luke Birkett, general manager of assets at MACA, says he is looking forward to seeing the Liebherr dozers in action in the WA goldfields.

‘The arrival of the three PR 776 dozers strengthens the partnership between Thiess, MACA and Liebherr. A significant amount of work has gone into planning and delivering a smooth transition to site, and I’d like to acknowledge the efforts of everyone involved. Our long-standing partnership with Liebherr has supported projects in Australia and internationally, and we look forward to continuing that relationship into the future.’

The PR 776 G8 was introduced at MINExpo 2024 and replaced the previous G6 model as Liebherr’s flagship mining dozer. It remains the world’s largest hydrostatic dozer and can move more material than other machines in its class while using less fuel. The G8 model also has updated electronic architecture that makes the machine compatible with more of Liebherr’s technology products while also providing the foundation for future developments.

Looking forward

Two R 9300 excavators will join MACA’s fleet in the second half of 2026. Both of these 250-tonne class machines will go to work in the mid-west region of Western Australia.

‘Both the PR 776 G8s and R 9300s have shown huge advantage to Liebherr customers worldwide, and I'm excited to see the positive impact these machines will have on the MACA operations,’ says Boitano.
