New 500-tonne crane in action with Steil

Steil Kranarbeiten based in Trier has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile crane. Outstanding mobility, an 84-metre telescopic boom and continuous improvements made to the renowned crane model were the main reasons behind the purchase decision. For its first job, the new Liebherr 500-tonne crane worked with another LTM 1500-8.1 from Steil to complete a tandem hoist of a 185 tonne gas turbine in Luxembourg.

Liebherr LR 1350/1 crawler crane involved in rotary kiln construction

The HeidelbergCement AG cement works in Schelklingen, Baden-Württemberg, has invested in a new rotary kiln system 68 metres in length. The main challenge in the project was to hoist the five components of the rotary kiln up to a height of 11 metres in a restrictive space. A Liebherr LR 1350/1 crawler crane from Belgian crane and heavy haulage contractor Sarens managed the job with aplomb. Furthermore a new Liebherr mobile crane is on the way to the Australian branch of the company. The new 8-axle LTM 1450-8.1 was ordered as a result of good past experience with crane manufacturer Liebherr.

Trio of Liebherr mobile cranes scales mountains

Austrian crane and heavy haulage contractor Felbermayr has erected a wind farm on a range of medium-height mountains in Styria. The 13 turbines made by Enercon were completed over the summer months. Transporting the turbine components to the site at an altitude of 1700 metres presented the main challenge to the Felbermayr teams.

Delivery of first Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 mobile crane

Liebherr delivered the first LTM 1450-8.1 at the start of October. It went to Gummersbach-based crane contractor Ley-Krane GmbH und Co. KG, which has added the new 450-tonne mobile crane to its fleet.

A Liebherr crawler crane moves concrete blocks weighing up to 180 tonnes like the bricks in a child's toy at the port of Coruña in Spain. Transportes y Grúas Aguado's new LR 11000 is the first crane of this type in the country. It is also the largest crawler crane sold to Spain in the last six years.

I.V. Guindastes buys used LR 1600/2-W crawler crane for erecting wind turbines from Liebherr

New paintwork, new owner, tried and tested quality. Brazilian crane rental company I.V. Guindastes has bought a used LR 1600/2-W crawler crane from Liebherr. The crane on narrow crawler travel gear is ideal for erecting wind turbines and will now work for one and a half years in a wind farm in Brazil.

Liebherr expands U.S. footprint with the opening of a new facility in Lodi, California

Liebherr USA, Co. continues its expansion in the U.S., with the opening of its newest location in Lodi, California to better service customers in the western region. The Lodi facility operations will include sales, service and repair of new and used mobile, duty cycle and lift version crawler cranes, as well as piling and drilling rigs.

Rieger & Moser GmbH & Co. KG from Ulm marked the end of a Sikorsky CH-53's life of service with a special deployment. A Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 mobile crane lifted the restored helicopter onto pre-prepared concrete supports. This exhibition piece will in future welcome visitors to the Kurt Georg Kiesinger Barracks in Laupheim.

Rothmund boosts crane fleet with three mobile cranes from Liebherr

Rothmund GmbH Kran und Montage has extended its crane fleet within the past few months with two Liebherr mobile cranes, an LTM 1030-2.1 and LTM 1350-6.1, as well as a Liebherr telescopic crawler crane LTR 1100. Rothmund set great store by the equipment of the two mobile cranes with the VarioBase®variable support system. These enable Liebherr cranes to deliver increased capacity, thereby making them even safer and more flexible to use.

Liebherr mobile crane assembles concrete mixing plant from sister works

At the end of June, ESB Kranverleih Transport und Hebetechnik GmbH based in Mittelbiberach in Upper Swabia, assembled a Liebherr concrete mixing plant using Liebherr mobile cranes. The Betomix 2.5 RIM plant with a mixer size of 2.5 m³ was assembled in a gravel plant just a few kilometres from the Liebherr concrete technology production works in Bad Schussenried.

The tallest wind turbines in the world: Max Bögl erects modern energy storage unit using Liebherr mobile crane

The tallest wind turbines in the world are currently being erected near Schwäbisch Hall in the north-east of Baden-Württemberg. The Max Bögl Group is erecting four turbines with a total height of 240 metres which will stand on enormous water basins. The system will be able to generate additional electricity when demand is high through its combination with a pump accumulator power plant in nearby Kocher Valley. A Liebherr mobile crane has now erected the 40-metre high active basins.

Enormous increase in lifting capacity through new boom variation from Liebherr

The latest development from the Liebherr crane plant in Ehingen is both innovative and sustainable. The engineers from the Swabian crane manufacturer have taken a quantum leap forwards with the SX boom systems for crane models LR 1750/2 and LG 1750. The improved lifting capacity values resulting from the reinforced lattice booms enables the 750-tonne cranes to lift weights normally reserved for the next higher class of crawler cranes with a 1000-tonne lifting capacity.
