Farnborough International Airshow 2014: Liebherr-Aerospace Signs Contract with LOT Polish Airlines for E-Jet E1 Landing Gear Overhauls

Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, Lindenberg (Germany), has been selected by LOT Polish Airlines to overhaul the main and nose landing gear systems of their Embraer E-Jet E1 fleet, which comprises E170 and E175 aircraft. The contract was signed at Farnborough International Airshow on July 16, 2014. In addition to MRO services, it includes an integrated support solution, which covers spare parts and engineering services and enables partial risk-sharing between Liebherr-Aerospace and LOT.

Liebherr Sunderland Works Ltd Celebrates 25 Years

Liebherr Sunderland Works Ltd, which started production in 1989, is a manufacturing plant for maritime cranes and cargo handling equipment including ship and port cranes, offshore cranes and mobile harbour cranes. On Friday [July, 11], the equipment manufacturer played host to staff, stakeholders and members of the family that own Liebherr, with a day of tours of its Ayres Quay base, before an evening of celebration at the city’s Stadium of Light.

First operation of the Liebherr LR 11000 crawler crane a complete success

A Liebherr LR 11000 crawler crane was in operation for the first time. One of the first models of the new 1000-tonne crane was transported to the Petrom refinery in Plojesti, near the Romanian capital Bucharest. In the course of the modernisation of the plant, several columns had to be hoisted into the existing system. The largest of the massive steel cylinders measured 58 metres in length with a 4-metre diameter and weighed in at 335 tonnes. It was a tricky job for the specialists from heavy load contractor Felbermayr based in Austria since the work had to be carried out with the plant running and in extremely constricted conditions.
