Austrian crane and heavy haulage contractor Felbermayr has erected a wind farm on a range of medium-height mountains in Styria. The 13 turbines made by Enercon were completed over the summer months. Transporting the turbine components to the site at an altitude of 1700 metres presented the main challenge to the Felbermayr teams.

Delivery of first Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 mobile crane

Liebherr delivered the first LTM 1450-8.1 at the start of October. It went to Gummersbach-based crane contractor Ley-Krane GmbH und Co. KG, which has added the new 450-tonne mobile crane to its fleet.

In September 2017, Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH was certified according to the new ISO standards 9001:2015 for quality management, 14001:2015 for environmental management and for the first time also according to OHSAS 18001:2007 for occupational health and safety management.

Liebherr-Aerospace Inaugurates Landing Gear Assembly Hall in Laval (Canada)

Liebherr-Canada Ltd, Aerospace and Transportation Systems Division has inaugurated its new facility in Laval, near Montreal (Canada) on October 12th, 2017. The site accommodates the final assembly and testing of the landing gear for the Bombardier C Series aircraft.

A new Liebherr wheel loader, the L 576 XPower®, recently began operation for Hans Dömkes GmbH, a company rich in tradition. This specialist firm, in the building materials recycling business, mentions the low fuel consumption and excellent build quality of the Liebherr wheel loaders as important criteria for the purchase. “Our new L 576 XPower® moves around 1,500 tonnes of material a day. Despite the particularly harsh operating conditions, it needs just 15.5 litres of diesel per hour of operation,” enthuses Managing Director Udo Dömkes. Harbour Dredging: Hybrid Duty Cycle Crawler Crane with 300 t Capacity in Operation in Piombino

The currently largest duty cycle crawler crane type HS 8300 HD from Liebherr is presently carrying out dredging work in Piombino. The aim of the project is to remove deposited sediment from the mouth of the port and also to increase the depth of the water. For this purpose the hybrid duty cycle crawler crane is equipped with a hydraulic clamshell grab with a filling capacity of 22 m³.
