Liebherr desarrolló un concepto innovador para el levantamiento eficiente y seguro de grúas sobre cadenas del tipo LR 1600/2 con largos sistemas de plumas para centrales eólicas. Usando la masa de una grúa telescópica sobre cadenas LTR 1220 como contrapeso, se reducen claramente los transportes de lastre y el manejo complicado de lastres en la obra es innecesaria.
El nuevo procedimiento se desarrolló especialmente para los empleos en la industria eólica. Un gran contrapeso en la grúa es necesario para levantar los largos sistemas de plumas, mientras que el lastre derrick se desconecta totalmente o se reduce a unas pocas placas durante la elevación. El innovador concepto de levantamiento de Liebherr permite por primera vez utilizar el peso de una grúa auxiliar como lastre derrick durante el proceso del levantamiento. De esta manera, el transporte y el manejo de las placas de lastre ya no son necesarios. En toda regla una grúa auxiliar suele estar disponible en la obra para realizar tareas de montaje o de elevaciones más ligeras.
