D9812 Mining

The D9812 is one of three variants of the Liebherr D98 series. Thanks to its intelligent modular system, this V-12 engine perfectly fits with mining applications such as hydraulic excavators or mining trucks. The engine is built to withstand the tough conditions of the mining industry. This twelve-cylinder engine comes with a heat shield on turbochargers and exhaust lines as well as individual fuel pressure accumulators per injector that considerably improve dynamic response and extend the component’s life. With outstanding performance in all applications, it can be adapted to comply with a range of emission standards: Tier 2 or even Tier 4 final. The V12 engine reaches a power output of up to 1,500 kW for hydraulic excavators and can reach up to 2,013 kW for mining trucks. By reducing the rated speed to 1,500 rpm, the D9812 engine for excavator is putting less stress on components, increasing the engine lifetime, and improving the fuel consumption. The D9812 can easily be adapted to the customer specifications thanks to the various options available (cold temperature, high altitude, configurations).
